Have you played the online 20 Questions? I've recently re-discovered it, and it's still as amazing as ever. And now there are different categories in addition to the classic game. Very cool. Give it a try!

Also, go out and buy Hershey's Coconut Creme kisses right now!! I first bought one bag after Easter last year. I absolutely loved them, but I looked again and couldn't find them anywhere. Apparently they show up around Easter only. I've been waiting for this Easter in hopes that they would appear again, and they did!
Anyway, if you like coconut at all, go buy them! (I want them to be very popular! :-D) Yum!

So. I decided I was incredibly bored of my layout, and I went searching for a new one that I liked. Being exceptionally hard to please, I have been having a lot of difficulty finding one that suits me. I found a few that I sort of liked, and I tried several of them out on a "tester" journal that I have. I decided to take a break, and I logged out. A little while later, I decided to continue my quest, and dummy me logged into my regular journal (this one). I tried on a new layout, only to realize that I put it on this journal and therefore screwed up my old layout before I was ready!!! My tiny icons! I had them all nice and it took me forever to get them that way! And every layout I try now either A) doesn't have a list of tags, B) doesn't appear to work with my Finding Nemo mood theme that I am so NOT READY TO GIVE UP!!, and/or C) looks terrible with my plus account. I toyed with the idea of going back to Basic, but then I can't make polls!

In short, I've just made a lot of trouble for myself. Grrr. Idiot. And I STILL can't find one I like.

My family and I drove several hours to a mall today. It was fairly large, with about two and a half floors and all the big department store names you can think of. It was insanely busy, with wall to wall people. Here's the thing: Really big mall absolutely swimming with people, and yet there was not a single bookstore.

None. Not a one anywhere to be seen.

I went home and read Jane Austen and wept. (Okay, so that's an exaggeration. The last part isn't true. ;-P)

But seriously, how can that huge mall have no bookstore? Do they have no use for one? As much as I'd like to believe that everyone there had a Kindle in his or her pocket, I really doubt it. Is this where we are all headed? Are we to have giant masses of near-illiterate people running around, people whose idea of reading is a text message?

Am I totally over-reacting to this? Is there some logical explanation, such as little mall bookstores are being crowded out by larger stores like Barnes & Noble and cheaper books online? Or is the general population truely headed downhill and fast?

This is going around the Jane Austen internet circles. I'm finding it terribly entertaining! You know the "Lorem ipsum" thing that gives you dummy text for putting in preview layouts and other things? Well this gives you random dialogue from Pride & Prejudice! It's crazy, I'm loving it! It makes me want to create a sharable profile or something just so that I have an excuse to use it.

As I started working with the caps, I realized what a really beautiful movie this is in terms of lighting. The colors in this movie are already brilliant; they need little help from me. This is such a soft-looking movie as well. It's so lovely!

I love watching costume dramas. (I'm sure you never could have guessed. ;-P) I really enjoying seeing and learning about the different customs or traditions of the past. Sometimes, the way things were done back then seem so much more elegant and respectful then the ways things are often done today. In some cases, the way they did things just looks cooler.
When we meet people today in our culture, we usually shake hands or give them a smile or a nod of the head. Nothing wrong with that. But I propose (don't laugh) that we should go back to the respectful acknowledgements that are the bow and curtsy.

It would mean fewer incidents of passing germs, it looks nice, and it seems so very polite and courteous.

See? No hand contact, so no passing germs (Because who knows where those hands have been? ;-) ).
And doesn't that look lovely? So graceful and ladylike/gentlemanlike.
It serves as such a good acknowledgement of the other person. Do it a certain way and it can convey It's lovely to see you and I hold you in high respect.
It's wonderful! Let's start reforming the world today, shall we? ;-)

I need hair suggestions. I never know what to do with my hair. I have wavy hair that falls just past my shoulders. Most of the time, I brush it and leave it, but lately, I've realized how incredibly boring that is. Does anyone know of any good hairstyle websites or communities? I own plenty of scrunchies, hair clips, and bobby pins!

Words, and Words That Aren't

When I was younger, I used to be too lazy to look up words that I didn't know in the dictionary. Whenever I was reading and I ran across an unfamiliar word, I would just pronounce it the way that I wanted to and then move on.

I stopped doing that a number of years ago. The dictionary is a beloved friend of mine. However, I am reminded of what I used to do from time to time. I'll be reading, then I'll stop and think Wait, something doesn't look right. I'll go back a sentence, look carefully at a word, and realize that I've been pronouncing it all wrong. Applying the now familiar rules of pronounciation, I will clearly see how it is supposed to be prounced, while I've been saying it the way I decided I wanted to prounce it years ago.

Thankfully, this mostly happens to me while I'm reading. Occasionally though, I'll say a word out loud incorrectly, only to be corrected by my mother. When this happens, I get embarrassed and mentally glare at my younger self. (You have no idea how many times that girl has tried to thwart my life!) I am sometimes afraid of saying a word wrong in front of non-relations. What might they think of me! (I believe I read somewhere they we use in speech only a small percentage of the words that we actually know, which I suppose should work in my favor.)

Isn't it nice to know that we do mature as we age! Some changes are for the better.

This is SatR icons part 1 of 2 (or possibly 3). I realized that I had made about nine icons from this movie thus far, which is completely unacceptable. I decided to set Jane Austen aside for the moment (difficult to do) and dedicate myself to this wonderful movie.

I would love comments! I found this movie rather difficult to icon. It's rather old (well, not really old old, but older than me ;-P), so cap quality isn't always the best, and in addition to that the lighting in this movie is often downright funky. The people usually have an orange or blue/purple glow that is very difficult to get rid of. I've done my best, and am not dissatisfied with the results.
